Au Naturale: Transitioning

So i figured i should start a series type thing of my natural montage. As stated in my last natural post, im in my transitioning stage of my journey. i rocked braids to the scalp that lasted me a little over a month and i just recently took them down to get my hair done for graduation. I am currently rocking invisible braids. For you non-black women, or for those of you who dont know what that is, you betta ask somebody... jkjk lol, theyre almost like micros, but its mostly hair. :]
and i think i have officially picked a date for my my bc... Independence Day. :]
ill explain more about that later, but for now, this will do. -xoxo, Keerah

Non-Highschool Student!

So I graduated high school yesterday, yay! Not as the valedictorian or even the seludictorian, i was third :/.  Whatever though, I just thank God its over.I was the only girl up there that wasnt leaking hysterically. Actually I didnt really cry at all. Im going to miss my friends, well one of them because shes going out of state, that girl got a full ride to HOWARD!   If I chose, I didnt have to go to college in the fall. But I am. Im planning on studying nursing, with some type of fashion minor. :) I might not have had scholarships overflowing in my mailbox, or might not be going to an ivy league school, but a degree is a degree, right? Anyways, I can not say that I am officially a non-highschool student, and it feels so good. FREEDOM!!

Ill put pics up soon :)

Twilight Woods

As I sat at the computer driking my new fave peppermint tea[never knew there was such a thing]. I tried to think of a clever name for this post. And then i had it, Twilight Woods, totally uninspired by the b&bw line, it sounded nice. :] It was a rather casual day for me, and didnt know that there would be a micro-photoshoot with me and a few of my friends. I love the mirrored aviators, and eventhough it might be lame to some people, i wear sunglasses all year around, [even in the winter]. as long as the sun peeks over the horizon, shades it is!    xoxo-keerah.

Au Naturale

So ive been solid on going natural for some time now. i think i made up my mind about last march. im tired of "lying" to my hair and believe that "black standard" that our women should look a certain way. who are they to tell me not to embrace my african tresses.[how does that sound]? dont get me wrong, straight hair is good and all, but permanently straightning your hair is going to far. i sooo didnt intent to vent on here but my fingers just keep typing the words. i want to be able to have the versitility of straight nor curly hair. and that relaxer crap,, just aint cuttin it. i am finally ready to embrace that curly me, naturally.
okay now. back to earth, :]

i tried transitioning  last year and ended up relaxing again in late august. then i got a pixie cut in november [yes like rihannas] and i LOVED it. then in march of this year i got it cut into a mohawk [i have to say,, it suited me very well]! but i was tired of relaxing and the dreadful hours at the hair salon, and the buning, and the blowdyers, it was all just too much. right now i am rocking braids to the scalp, and i am planning on bcing in early july or so. :]

                          inspiration :]

i feel like breaking into song, lol. xoxo- Keerah
